OP Idaho_Shooter Campfire Ranger I Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 26,072 Likes: 15 West Treasure Valley, Idaho	This is probably the 2'nd largest meteor I have ever witnessed. I was driving Southbound on US 95 near the intersection with US 20-26 at 6:30 AM MDST. A large bright green light appeared in the top center of my windshield. It had come from behind my car and was about thirty degrees above the horizon when it became visible to me. Brightness was similar to a 100 watt bulb fifty yards away. I watched it fall toward the horizon for a second or so, glowing bright green. Then a few reddish bits began to trail behind. It winked out at about fifteen degrees above the horizon. It is always interesting to see unusual things fall from the heavens. I have to wonder what the composition was to give the strong green tint. Copper should do so. Perhaps the copper composition was artificially enhanced. People who choose to brew up their own storms bitch loudest about the rain.

slumlord Campfire Kahuna Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 67,495 Likes: 64 TN	Witnessed one like that. Very overtaking of the night sky. Turned a green as well, then broke up into dozens of chunks and many streamers. AND NO, it was not “starlink”. Wasn’t even during a predicted shower event.

It was like a silent truck had run up behind me and turned the brights on. I turned around and there was a stealth fighter looking shape of lights, like that flying wing they used to have outlined in bright lights. It was a couple of miles wide. I found out later on that the perseid meteor shower was going on

Out here must be a good place for them to bump satellites to another orbit because i have seen a lot of them. Most bumps i have seen is 37,both me and my Daughter saw this 2 years ago.

elkmtb Campfire Regular E Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 760	was outside in the early 80's when a large russian satelite came down at night. Looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. most of the meteors we see are sand to baseball sized. imagine what a medium or big one looks like
