Looks ta me like MLB is avoidin political bullshit, not startin it.

I was done with them when the Cleveland Indians got rid of their Chief Wahoo logo and announced they were going to chang the name from "Indians" after next season.

I deliberately bought a chief Wahoo hat just before the cancel culture got him. I wear it outdide and people say, "I see you'e an Indians supporter." Well, no. I just like to demonstrate my political incorrectness.

Professional sports has hitched its wagon to young left-leaning urbanites and has decided that its traditional fan base is no longer its target audience.

I grew up a rabid baseball fan...played every chance I got as a kid and even got a job as a vendor at Candlestick Park in the late 70s so I could go to games for free. As late as the early 2000s I was still crazy for baseball, even though I had move to NYC and was no longer the Giants fan I used to be. I spent a ton of money on baseball and either watched or listened to every game I could.

That stopped when MLB got woke. I didn't watch a single game last year, didn't follow any team and couldn't have cared less what was going on. I thought the SJW crap had passed and I peeked at the box scores on opening day. Now, I not only am back to refusing to follow the game, I'm totally finished with even considering giving them a second of my time. As far as I'm concerned, they are dead.

My background as a baseball lover is quite similar to the first paragraph above by Remsen. Those at the top have changed the game and MLB in general and my interest has dwindled to the point where I rarely go to or watch a game - and then only because I am interested in the performance of some great individual player. I understand the comments about their new desired fan base - good luck with that - I doubt it will support MLB to anywhere the degree that the old base did for such a long time.

Best news in the story was Delta getting their tax exemption lifted! Hahahaha. Go Georgia!

Other States should also lift those exemptions in solidarity.

(I think I just hit on an idea that should be promoted....)

No reason to watch any professional sports at all. They should gave stuck to their games and avoided politics. They will not get any of my time or money.
