I am looking a doing a 2-4 Day off the beaten path backpack hunt during 1st Rifle Elk in Colorado GMU 67 and am looking for any input from the community. I have hunted the unit some before but never done a backpack style hunt and looking for some pointers. Please shoot me a PM if you would be open to share or would like to chat.

Never hunted that area, but I'd advise getting into mountain shape asap. It's not easy backpacking at elevation buy lightweight gear and start doing lots of exercises.

Hard unit to draw for.

I have the advantage of youth so I am maybe 1/2 way into mountain shape. haha 27, 5' 10" and 165#. So some more work to do before then but have a good start. Thinking of keeping the first backpack adventure short (2-3days) to help aid in the learning curve.
