I have a post mil tang safety Savage 99 chambered in 300 Savage, I'd like to re barrel it to 7 08 or 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm worried about feeding problems with the 300 Savage rotor. Has anyone done this? Thoughts? I've been hunting with the 300 Savage with 125 Nosler BT at about 2850 FPS and it is a nice low recoil load that kills like lighting. Maybe I should leave well enough alone. Can't help myself I'm a certifiable looney.

Load the rifle up now with 7mm08 rounds and see if you can load and feed them. Just don't try to close the bolt, just feed the cartridge halfway in.
