I've had a left-hand Zastava Model 70 Mauser for a couple years, purchased NIB. It is chambered in the venerable 6.5X55 Swedish Mauser and shoots very well.
I enjoyed breaking in the barrel then working up a nicely accurate Barnes load for it. A good stock man here slimmed down the (IMO) chubby factory stock, shaping a proper European style cheek piece, then finished with a medium dark stain, several coats of poly, a very nice checkering job, and installed sling studs. It has a 22-inch factory barrel fitted with a folding rear sight and ramped/hooded front post. The bridge has four holes for scope mounting. Bluing is perfect throughout. LOP is 13.5 inches to hard plastic butt plate. The round count is <125.
I love this cartridge, but have a few other rifles in same I know I'll probably grab most times I head to the woods for deer (or elk or bear, for that matter). Yes, they are vintage RH bolts, but I can cycle bolts on either side.
For somebody that has been looking for a really nice, mild chambered LH bolt to get a youngster started, or just to spoil yourself with, this may be the one for you. I've got $1,100 into this rifle, and am firm about getting it back out. So I'll need that, plus buyer paying for shipping any way you want it shipped and insured to your FFL. It will come in the original factory box. I'm a private seller in zip 59801, so make sure your FFL agent will receive from me with ID. I've got lots of pictures, so just PM me with your email/text to request images. I'm around my computer into early this week, then intermittently away from it, so please be patient. I'll try to respond to all.
