So I go to the local auto parts store to purchase a pair of quality windshield wipers.

The checkout clerk was a little round woman about 5 foot nothin. I pay for the overpriced wipers and she says, "Want me to install them on for your?"

I almost laughed out loud. And declined her help. She'd need a ladder to get up there.

On my way home I was kicking myself in the ass for not letting her install the wipers. I could've filmed it.

I've got fairly new wipers on my car. One blew off in the car wash. The other one blew off while driving in the rain yesterday.

I don't ask much from a windshield wiper,....just that I don't have to get out in the rain, pick it up out of the ditch, and reattach it.

That's a major nuisance.

I can't recall one ever blowing off, let alone two. Something tells me there's more to it than brand.

Only ones I ever saw blow off where a pair of those twin blades
that were popular in the 90's. First couple pair were great. Then the
knockoffs hit the market, and they were junk.

I've stopped researching wiper blades. The only two things I buy from dealerships are wiper blades and oil filters. Ford has good wiper blades. Toyota does too.

Use rain x windshield washer fluid, you won't need wipers.

There is always the possibility of installer error, some might need the assistance of the little round woman...

Trico or Anco are the 2 better brands I can recommend.

Over 40 years in the repair business and I never had a wiper which I installed ever fly off anyone's vehicle.
You have to put 'em on properly.

In this high desert, they never wear out. They sun bake and crack. I replace them once a year because the rubber cracks, sometimes with under 2 hrs of actual use.

I've never had one come off that I can remember. I've been using Rain-X brand for a long time with good results.

I have had it happen on two different vehicles. Both times on the drivers side. Once when I was in Little Rock in heavy traffic. miles

Ask the nineteen year old groid behind the counter to install them for you.

Then reflect.

Wipe the wiper blades down with armor monthly and you won't replace the wipers for years. The flying off part.....you just can't fix stupid sometimes.
