no shortage of guys living in tents for extended periods of time on youtube.

I'd see if any of them are using the models you are interested in.

It took some time but, this is the one my friend bought. A little more information. He is a Jeep guy, so he got two EZ-UP's to park the bimi top Jeep under. The tent is a cube with floor very comfortable. Totaly dry under the EZ-UP. He calls it his Fuczz Shack.

Interesting, the roof is a option you purchase separately.

I went to Cabelas today in Portland. The guide tent has crappy fiberglass poles. The Instinct has aluminum.

I ended up buying a Eureka tent

Nah, assault wanna be. The poles fit in sleeves. Nary a "high capacity clip" to be found on the tent!

CABELA'S INSTINCT OUTFITTER 10X14 TENT - I bought one of these the second year they came out. I got the stove pipe protector and all that. It is large and heavy but all fits in a 33 gal garbage can. One person can put it up but two helps.

We have used it in pretty harsh conditions. These include the Oregon Coast during late elk season and in the Blue mountains for spike only elk were the worst.

Wind and rain have not been a problem and it handles snow loads very well. It has never leaked. I haven't tarped it either.

It is easy to heat, a small wood stove is all we have needed. with wood there is room for three cots, Propane allows us to use four but it is more crowded than I like.

When we use propane, it does not collect moisture as much as other nylon tents. It is well vented.

The two vestibules are large and easy to get in and out of without letting weather in the tent itself.

I have no experience with the Alaskan or Alaknak tents. I do have an old 10' x10' copy of a Bomb Shelter that is pretty worn It is near perfect for two in bad weather. and just got a Browning Glacier Extreme 6 Person Tent to replace it I hope it is as good. I prefer this type of tent to the Alaskans due to their low entries.

I also have a wall tent, dome tents and teepees.
