I hate to rain on anyone's parade but the author of the article does not know what he's talking about.

The .gov has strict rules about what you have to pay people on H1b visas. When we looked at it, we would have to pay MORE THAN the going rate for Americans.

The only reason to consider them is that, for 50 years or so, there has been a shortage of US engineering graduates. That's because US students would rather major in cookie cutting subjects. Student loans should be based on the likelihood that the graduate will be able to work in a useful field, in order to pay back the loan. They aren't.

Best critique of the wrongness of mass immigration that I have seen. He shows how it is a violation of the social contract.

I've worked in hi-tech for 28 years and the article is pretty much correct. Instead of hiring a bunch of fresh out US engineers that may or may not turn out, it's cheaper and less risky to hire a bunch in the overseas office and then use US citizenship as a corporate reward for the ones that produce. This was going on under Clinton, accelerated significantly under GW, kept going under Obama, but Trump actually put a stop to it. Surprisingly Biden hasn't reversed it...yet.
