Refinishing and adding a new 1" recoil pad on my son's stock that was cut back some time ago. Need a brown spacer between .25" and .50" to give a little more LOP. Anybody have something that I can grind to fit or can recommend where I might find some material to do this? Thanks
I'd probably see if I could find a slab of micarta for a job like this. Knife scale slabs would work pretty well, I would think. I used to see them on eBay all the time.
That NECG hard rubber option looks like a good one.
I used some of the Pachmayr white spacers from Midway on a project stock of mine and although they worked, you can mar them with your fingernail. Much too soft. And the porosity of the spacer stock meant that you couldn't get the powder/color from the ground rubber recoil pad out of the spacer and it would never polish out. Not real pleased, but in the end it worked well enough that I don't feel like redoing the work. No idea if the Kick-EEZ brand are the same. Black would at least mean you wouldn't see discoloration.
