I have not been on the campfire for awhile. As life got busy I just moved away. Lately life from me has been a health adventure. I came down with the 'Rona on Oct. 16. I am a seemingly heath person , but I was genuinely sick for a month. After I returned to reasonable health, I had a Dr. appointment to adjust my blood pressure medicine, as it did not work as well from effects of 'Rona. At this appointment a lump on my neck , was deemed concerning. This is where the wheels came off the wagon. two minor surgeries and two seriously uncomfortable major surgeries with a skin graf later , I was finally at a place where the surgeon and oncologist were happy with lab results. I am in a immunotherapy treatment program now to prevent and control and further melanoma issues and prognosis is good. My down time has caused me to reassess what I spend my time doing. I spent a month in a recliner staring forward , because of neck surgeries, Twice. The regular tv viewing in this period, ( Election time through end of February) was to say the least , very depressing. Our Country is in major downturn in economics, Moral and social standards. I write all this to say Y'all provided me with an escape and just reading various post have returned me to the hunt camps and campfires of friends . The name 24hr campfire stands firm as I would be on here reading at all hours of the day, while recovering. We may all not agree , and we all have different opinions, but if we conduct ourselves in a respectful manner this is a great forum that allows expression and an exchange of ideas and information. Something that is sadly gone from American society.. Thank you all for just being here

Just a brief update, I had a pet scan last week and am declared clear of disease progression. That is Doctor speak for cancer free, but I will remain vigilant...

That’s excellent news,I hope and pray that you continue to beat the hell out of the cancer. Your post is not only an accurate assessment (imho) but it shows that you have a great perspective on one of the many functions this place serves. With a winning attitude, proper perspective and a little bit of faith you’ve got virtually all the ammunition you need for a full recovery. 👍
