Set both pieces but it has to be corncob. Looking for matching wood.

You looking for the slimline 1950s walnut corn cob forend? Or the later style that rode up onto the barrel some to protect the fingers from the hot barrel?

Not sure what "older" means when we're in the 2020s smile

OK. That's just a picture I grabbed off the web to make sure I knew what you were talking about. So I hope I don't disappoint.

I have a stripped set, 50s era. But the person that did the stripping before I bought it (for a similar project to what you are undertaking, perhaps) did some sanding, too. And not a great job of it. I decided to hunt further due to rounding at the wood on the receiver/wrist joint of the butt stock which I wasn't happy with. Primarily the underside beside where the trigger housing sits. The forend, however, is in pretty good shape.

If you don't get any better bites, send me a PM and we'll figure out if it'd work for what you have in mind.

The police wood I have on mine is a ribbed forearm, no checkering on the stock and a 1 inch Remington recoil pad. I am guessing there are several "Generations" of police wood.

I'm looking to refinish the wood myself so it doesnt have to be perfect. But no cracks or big dents. I would like a matching set. I just purchased 2 older police trade ins. One has a plastic wood set. I want to cerakote the metal and go back to the wood.

Here are 2 sets that came off of police guns. The one forearm doesn't match well so I am assuming it was replaced at some point but making them darker is easy. Making them lighter, not so much.

And here is an original corn cob forearm but it is unrelated to the police wood above. If any of it will work for your project shoot me a PM.
