Anyone using that for sending videos/pics by email?
My email account won't let me send anything above a certain size, and I've got a nice video of Dandee our 16 month old whippet running an oval course.
Is dropbox owned by one of the big companies we all love to hate?

I've used it, it works. I can't answer your question on ownership but I don't think it would be going out on a limb to say "yes."
Edited to add, it looks like it's not owned by the big guys.

Dropbox is an independent company. I've used it for 10 years and it is very reliable and seamless.

I've been using it to send large files and CAD work of our home to all the subs I need to line up for our new house and it works great so far... Pretty intuitive and easy to use for a computer troglodyte like me....
