What E T could one expect a 3,500 pound car to do with 380HP?

I'd say it depends on how well it gets the 380 to the ground and what the torque curve looks like. My own best guess would be maybe about 13 seconds, give or take.

I agree with RiverRider. Right gears and tires low 13’s and maybe high 12’s.

My 3500 pound car with 460 horsepower will do 12.28 at about 120 MPH.

I should have qualified my answer by saying that time and speed is from a factory stock car with original size tires. Open exhaust and slicks would improve it greatly.

You will be doing well to get into the 13s on street tires.

Depends solely the driver.

If it's my wife driving, about 5-1/2 minutes after the tree is lit she'll stop talking and put the car in gear.

Another minute and a half to break the beam on the far end, let's call the ET right at 7 minutes on the nose.

Factory rated 380hp is very different than 380 wheel horse power .

380-hp on a Dyno is a pretty sporty ride .

There are HP rating SAE/BRAKE and another I can't think of .
A raw engine without alternator/AC compressor/power steering etc. drags HP down , now think about turning a transmission , driveshaft /ring pinion/axles rotors/wheel/tire .

I think I've been stuck behind her on the way to work...damn near every day of my life since I moved here. Why isn't she working in Oregon??

Gearing, tires, even things like manual vs electric fans make difference. My guess is 380hp at the crank with 3500 LBS would be mid 13's. My 77 vette is getting a engine that will make ~450hp at the crank, 700r4, 3.70 gears, on stock radials. I'm hoping for 330-350 hp at the wheels. I'll be lucky to get in the mid 12's with the trans gears and 8,5" wide street tires. The stock fan and AC won't help either. But it should do a wicked smoke show which is the important thing laugh

380 HP on an engine dyno(gross hp) or 380 HP on a chassis dyno(rear wheel hp)?.

Rear tire type, gearing?

Tons of other variables but first 2 questions are very pertinent.
