#sickforit #newburgnation
Everyone wants to be the hero. Local kid, 26-27 yo went to Montana last year, killed a 145” buck, been doing podcasts every since, oh Montana, the land of copious amounts of public land, mule deer in the rut, blah blah fuucking blah. Well last week he was crying like a broke Dick dog cause the dummy didn’t get drawn!! 😂😂
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Like TinyCOCK said, “but hunters numbers are down across the board”.
To be clear, sarcastism was used. You never know how literally people take statements on here. Kind of like the TinyCock thing. It's reverse psychology, ya know?

Valle Vidal youth rifle elk hunt for my 13 year old grandson. That’s awesome, congrats! Spent a lot of time there and would love to hunt it one day. Another year of red boxes for me.

That whole area is beautiful country. I hunted the CS on the front side out of Angle Fire a couple times years ago. I'm really looking forward for my grandson to see this country and get a chance at a good bull.

Ha, I was about to get really excited for you. I have yet to draw a NM Oryx tag.

Nothing but red for me, again, as I compete for 6% of 125-250 (from 6 to 15) tags with several thousand other folks. Logic tells me to quit giving their liberal government an interest-free, several-thousand dollar loan and a $150 dollar donation every year, but the loony in me can’t help it.
Congrats and good luck to those who drew!!!

Paying my CC bill today I realized (well, re-realized) how much $ I spend simply applying for New Mexico every year. Despite being refunded everything except the ~$80 license and the actual application fees, I had over $100 in interest this billing cycle simply from NM and ID applications (sheep only in Idaho).
With 60,000+ more apps this year and no sign of that number going down, coupled with myself drawing 1 tag in NM in 20 years, I may just throw in the towel with them. Heck, I could have payed a good portion of a small African plains game hunt with what I have donated to NM over the years, despite also being refunded the license fee itself up until just a couple years ago. Doing so would move the sport even closer to the rich man wildlife management system, but it would have been a guaranteed hunt, anyhow. It is what it is.....
We'll see what kind of mood I am in next March.

It was a blood bath. Unfortunately, I don’t see the numbers going down substantially either. We don’t treat DIY NR’s very well IMO, but don’t see that changing either. It’s going to be interesting to see the resident/NR split of the 60K. Paying my CC bill today I realized (well, re-realized) how much $ I spend simply applying for New Mexico every year.
