Previously, I fired several hundred rounds of Remington bulk packed Thunderbolt and fifty rounds of CCI Mini Mags, which both functioned flawlessly, although the Thunderbolts leaded the bore grooves (which was, however, easy enough to clear out during normal cleaning).

Yesterday, I fired about 275 rounds of the Federal Value Pack .22 Long Rifle, and had three or four failures to eject the spent case, requiring that I rack out the spent case and chamber a live one from magazine manually. Otherwise, function was flawless, and no leading of the bore is observed.

For truly flawless function, it looks like the Glock needs the hotter stuff, but for practice shooting there's no reason, IMO, to disdain the Federal Value Pack ammo. Three or four times, out of 275 rounds, having to rack the slide to get her going again is no big deal on the range. If I were using the 44 in a match, afield, or for self-defense, I'd keep it loaded with CCI Mini Mags, however.

Good information Hawkeye!

I just picked up two 800 round Federal bricks. Local Bi-Mart had them on sale for $57. each.

Have always ran CCI, (with zero jams in my Glock 44) but had to buy what I could find.

Thanks! Virgil B.

I have shot mine in several speed steel matches and using CCI blazer or Fed AM without any issues. Last time out We did a gun trade out for the match where we all used traded guns for the course. Everyone was impressed at how well the G44 did across the course with no issues. It's been more reliable that my Ruger MK 2 in matches.
Only issue I've had with mine has been 36 gr ammo not wanting to feed correctly. Along with subsonic not having enough power.
A friend I have said after several 1k rounds his will run everything including subsonic.

Thanks,

I don't have quite a thousand rounds through mine yet, so maybe after that, the Federal Value Pack ammo will work 100%. We'll have to see. Meanwhile, the Thunderbolt and Mini-Mags are working 100%.

I changed my sights out on mine. Went with a set of Ameriglo with non adjustable rear black and red tube up front. Just seemed like the factory adjustable wasn't holding zero with all the use of in and out of the holster. I picked them up off Ebay for around $40 and an improvement for myself anyways. YMMV

I have put about 4 boxes of the Federal 550 packs through mine and the only problems I’ve had were misfires. Not light strikes just a bad shell now and then. Sometimes they fire on the second go, sometimes not.

Right now my match ammo is CCI Blazer or SV. Both have been flawless.

This is of course after I learned how to load the magazines. Just keep an eye on the 8th, 9th and 10th round, making sure they don’t load flat. Keeping the base plate flat on a table also eliminates any problems.
