I have one of these inherited from FIL in the original box with an original 7 round magazine and a couple of RamLine 25 round clear mags. Is there anything special about this model, or is it just a decent shooting Marlin micro-groove? It still has the sticker on the stock advertising the "American Walnut", not exactly grade 5 quality  . I can't decide what to do with it.

Well, it is a walnut stocked JM marked CT made Marlin rimfire. That is a start..
What are the first two digits of the serial number? That can yell us what era it was from.
The clip fed 70,75 795 series all went through tge same series of design improvements in the trigger& bolt stop systems as the tube fed m60 series did from tge 1960s onward.
If your gun is in nice shape it is worth between $200-$250 in today's narket

Eight digit serial number, the first four are "2058". Made in 1980. My 995 is the most accurate semi auto .22 I've ever owned and I've had a bunch. It has also been extremely dependable.

A Marlin made 995 with box would bring at least $400 at auction. Used 995s are bringing $250 right now.
