I have for sale a lightly used Remington model 600 in 6.5 Rem Mag. This was a rifle I inherited from my dad. He bought it new and hunted with it maybe 2 seasons and then let me hunt with it a couple years then it went in the closet. It was never his go to rifle but he liked the way it looked. It was never shot much due to the fact its a handful with the short 18 1/2" barrel. Also, even when you could get ammo it was hard to find and expensive.

When I got this rifle from my dad, he had all the brass he shot through it which was around 180 total, so guessing with some lost its been fired 250 +/- times total. Its clean with just some minor rub marks on the stock. The only issue which I think is mostly cosmetic is that the barrel isn't exactly centered in the barrel channel, it does sit off to the left which you can see in the pictures. As far as I can remember its always been this way and it shot fine - at some point my dad did bed the recoil lug which looks like a nice job but not sure if that is the issue?? But wanted to make sure everyone is aware of that.

I realize these are kind of a unique rifle with some that love them and most that don't wink Coming up with a reasonable price is tough, I see them listed anywhere from $1000 up to as much as $2000 which is crazy IMHO. The Mags seem to be more valuable with the 6.5 Mag being it bit more harder to come by.

I think $1150 shipped might be about right - this would be shipped from me to your FFL so please make sure they will be OK with that. First "I'll take it" followed by a PM with details and you got it. Payment depends - would prefer a postal MO unless we have had dealings in the past than anything is fine by me.

I also have 6 full boxes of factory Remington Core-Lokt 120 grain ammo that I will sell to the person that buys the rifle for an additional $250 shipped or if they pass on it then its for sale to whomever would like it. 5 boxes look new and one looks like it may have seen some weather, some of the cases are kind of spotted but think they would still be OK.

If anyone has any additional questions or would like to see any other pictures please let me know.
Thanks for looking!
Frank

Nice rifle, I couldn’t find a reasonably priced 6.5 RM to go along with my 350 model 600 so I bought a 673. I think you have this one priced fairly. Good luck with the sale and nice goats!

Cheers,
Cody

Thanks gents. I've already had a couple PM's on the barrel being off center. I just really don't know why it is, could be the stock is off, doubt it was caused by the bedding. Seem to recall seeing posted before that a tweaked recoil lug could cause that to happen but I really don't know the reason other than I think its always been off and from what I remember it shot just fine.

A rifle to make a Remington fan drool!!!

I've bedded a few rifles with off-center barrels. I usually open up the lug recess a little and then put a piece of ammo boxboard around the barrel at the forend tip to keep the barrel centered as I put the barreled action into the epoxy in the stock.

Reminds me of a story I read about a guy who hunted either Canada/Alaska or the Artic with one like this as his main rifle.

Cool rifle in a very cool chambering! Free bump for a good guy, really neat gun!

Drool....

I know they have a heck'uva kick because I've shot them before, but always liked the M600 series and the 6.5 mag............
