A local guy wants to trade six NIB S&W knives that he claims were designed by Blackie Collins for a slightly used Remington 870 12 gauge with 3 choke tubes and 100 rounds of ammo. He has 3 each of 2 styles, a "survival" knife with a hollow handle and a "skinning" knife.
Dones anybody here have any hands-on knowledge of these knives and if they are worth more, or less, than his $100 asking price? I have around $400 in the shotgun and ammo.

Would prefer the shotgun and ammo.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

I wouldn't trade for those S&W branded knives.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Don't know where they were made, but they were first cataloged in the mid-1970's, I found a picture of this series of knives and the knife styles that the seller has appear to be the Outdoorsman and Skinner styles. I don't need the knives or the shotgun, but would be happy to make the trade if the knives are more valuable that the shotgun. This is a shotgun that I bought as part of an estate where I had to buy 16 firearms to insure that I got the 1 that I wanted, so it has no meaning to me.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your original post the gun and choke tubes are worth a hell of a lot more than the seller is asking for his knives. If you like the knives you should go ahead and buy them. That gun is very desirable right now and you could do much better than $100 asking price of the knives if you choose to sell the gun

I do not care if they were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, they were built China out of pot metal. If you like the knifes, offer him $5 each. If he wants the shotgun, don’t sell it for less than $400

I appreciate your feedback. The part about hands-on knowledge seems to have been missed by some folks. Thanks for the link. The knives that have been offered to me are 3 of the second from the top of the picture and 3 of the third from the top of the picture.

I have one of the skinners. My dad bought a few of this line back in the early 80’s. Gave me the one I posted. I bought another at a knife show so I could have a “user”.

You make the deal, I’d be a buyer for one of the hollow handle survival knives if you’re interested in parting with one.

They seem like well made production knives even though they aren't really my cup of tea.
I'm more of a Harvey King small game knife guy.
I don't care about the shotgun and the knives would take up less storage room, so I'd probably make the deal.
