Trying to get my yard started and have an assortment of weeds, among them are morning glory? Tried tilling but no luck. What poison is recommended to kill this so I can start growing grass? Im tempted to use diesel and oil mixed? Thanks

You can use some glyphosate on it.

It'll kill it.

Tilling will just spread morning glory.

Morning glory is considered a poisonous plant as well. They are considered a poisonous drug similar to LSD that grows all over.

Dogs, cattle and horses can die if they eat it.

Don't eat the seeds unless you have nothing to do for the rest of the day... So I'm told...

2,4,D. The Amine formulation is easier on grass, but Ester will work to.

I use round-up (glyphosate) on everything, but it will kill grass too!

Spray some Grazon on it, will kill all broadleaf, but not your grass. Has around 90 day residual also.

A weed is a plant out of place.

Don't do this if you are planting a lawn right away. You'll need to wait at least 30 days to plant that lawn. Roundup is your friend as you can plant within 3 days and have no ill effect. Rates will be pretty high to get Morning Glory with it however.

I'd be inclined to plant the lawn. A healthy stand of grass will out compete the Morning Glory for sun and moisture. Morning Glory aint really a lawn weed.

I thought this thread was gonna be about the real morning glory weed, cannabis.

But really, be careful with herbicides that target broadleafs. They generally act through the soil and can damage desirable trees or shrubs.

And don’t get any in your beer or on your PB&J

2-4-D, get the 46% concentrate at the farm store not the 7% sold in the big box store.

So far Higginez has offered the best information.

Are we talking Morning Glory flowers or the miserable bindweed? The flowers seeds are narcotic, related to LSD, and kids will eat packaged seeds to get high.
