Just passing it along, sort of a rare bird as they were built by the custom shop. Wonder if it will hit $2k?
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

This is at least the second one in the past couple months. The cool thing with the STW's is that they are built on the long magnum actions. Easy change out to rebarrel to 300H&H...
As far as sales price, who knows ???

I had a 'standard' 7mmSTW and still have a 'Custom Shop' Custom Sporting SharpShooter 7mmSTW. The test target on the SharpShooter is 0.138" (3 shots); the best I've ever done with it is 0.220" (3 shots).
Shoot straight, shoot often, but by all means, use enough gun!

As far as sales price, who knows ??? I thought it was the same length action they used in the 06, 300 Win Mag, 338, etc. Just a different bolt stop and magazine box. Yea or Nay?

My understanding, Overall action length is same. Bolt stop, ejector, magazine box and follower all have to be swapped out to get the feed and eject right. The factory Long Magnum receivers also have a rear receiver bridge milled further back to allow easier ejection for the longer COAL. The one I had built on a 7 RM receiver worked fine with the standard magnum opening. One bump I hit with converting the 7 RM to 300H&H was the magazine follower. Tried three different H&H length followers to find one that consistently fed the full stack properly without any hiccups. Another was finding out that a portion of the receiver overhung the rear of the magazine box and occasionally would prevent the rear of a cartridge from popping up "just enough" that the bolt would ride over the cartridge. A simple 20-30 minute fix once I found the culprit. Nothing insurmountable. However, if I had it to do over, I would start with a factory long magnum action and be done with it...

One of these sat on this forum for a while in the past year at $1200 or so. Personal opinion, but the 7mm STW is a strange caliber to have in a blued rifle and wood stock. Seems more like a caliber for a stainless/synthetic setup.

That’s not terrible. I thought it would be close to $1500. Given the rarity of the extra length ejection port for easy conversion to a 416 Rem or some other large caliber, that’s not a bad deal.

Interesting re: his statement that all m70 7 stw wear Schneider barrels. Would be interested to know if anyone could verify that.
