This popped up on the news this morning and it reminded me of a poster here a couple years ago who found an old bottle of whiskey in his parents' closet that dated to the early 1900s, IIRC.. Did he contact an auction house? I tried to find the old post but gave up.. Anybody have any info on the gentleman and/or what he did with it?

The thing of it is, whisky in a bottle stopped aging once it left the cask. I've got a 5th of some good stuff that I got in Scotland in '88. The only reason I don't drink it is . . . well, it's a long, drawn out story about #1 Wife, AKA Satan. There's no physical reason not to crack it open tonight.
Bottom line: The quality of Whisky in the bottle only has one way to go: down.

i have two pint bottles of bourbon both bottled aroun 1916. i don't drink so probablyshould pour it down the sink.
