Why were there so many discrepancies in his jury selection? Did he get a fair trial by an unprejudiced jury of his peers?

The defense presented a strong case. The prosecution did their part. However, the jury was the weak point. They knew if they came back with anything other than guilty on all charges, cities would burn, their lives would be in danger, people would die, billions of dollars worth of property would be destroyed.

In the end, the mob dictated the outcome.

It was on video and broadcast all over. That he got a trial at all was fair enough. He may get another fair trial on the tax fraud charges. The 14 year old he beat with a flashlight and knelt on for over a quarter of an hour until the kid was bleeding from his ear may now get a fair shake.

No.

The jury wasn't sequestered.

Sitting member of congress makes threats about what should happen if there's a "not guilty" verdict.

POTUS makes comments about the case.

General shiit show in regards to prosecutor conduct.

Media threatening to dox jurors.

It's spelled Faag.

And no, he did not get a fair trial.

First off I wouldn't be taking news or advice from The Atlantic on this or anything else.

I don't think it was fair for Maxine Waters or Joe Biden to discuss his case in the way they did. I have no idea whether the jurors knew of those comments. Which is the point: what did the jurors know and what influenced them? If it was outside the trial processes, then it might not have been fair. But that is where the answer lies. There could be error committed by the judge of course, I don't know what that might or might not be. I presume the jury is the focus of your post.

George Floyd didn’t either, nor did any cop that’s not been out of line.

The verdict was in before the trial started!

"Just look at the murder of George Floyd – if the world had not seen that clear and disturbing footage, there might not have even been an ounce of accountability for those officers. We refuse to be discouraged and vow to keep the pressure on these agencies until we get to the truth. We will not stop saying his name. Andrew Brown Jr."

This above will be used for Chauvin's appeal. Original verdicts overturned on appeal. I have some confidence this will be so.

This. The decision needs to be overturned. Reversible error.
