Me too.

I’ve been there where they filmed it. Creepy place after dark.

We had a chair by a window in our living room that I usually sat in while watching TV at night when I was a kid. I wouldn't sit by a window after dark for about a month after watching that movie.

1975, Race with the Devil, with Peter Fonda. After the movie two friends and myself had planned to camp out. I wasn’t old enough to drive but the other two where brothers and one was 14 so he had a permit to drive.
We didn’t make it through the night, out of a dead sleep we were awakened by a large crash out in the trees. We got up, fired our 22’s out into the trees, got in the car and headed for home. The next day we came back to collect our stuff and investigate. It appears that a huge branch had fallen off a tree. We were pretty sure Bigfoot had pulled it down in the middle of the night.

Are you certain Bigfoot didn't pull it down in the middle of the night?

At the time it wouldn’t have surprised me as Bigfoot, ufo’s and cult cattle mutilations were all the rage.

The only crop circles were the cookies we spun in the stubble fields and on the school lawn.

Yes, "Knock, Knock" is a bit disturbing.

And there was "Bare Wench Project" circa 2000. I understand it inspired some sequels. But the first was about all I could take.

As another has stated, I just do not have the "suspension of disbelief". So called horror flicks do not really phase me. My wife finds anything with flowing blood to be very disturbing. So we avoid the genre.

I remember watching "War of the Worlds" when it came out on TV. I was only about six or seven, but I was fascinated.

My Mom, on the other hand was totally freaked out. It was dark that evening when chore time came, cow needed milked and calves needed fed. Mom made me go along because she was afraid to go out in the dark after watching the movie.

The Exorcist is a classic based on a book of the same name by William Peter Blatty. The sequel Exorcist 2 was not based on one of his books and sucked ass however. But the 3rd film in the series (Exorcist III circa 1990) starred George C Scott and was actually based on Blatty's 2nd book called Legion. It is a really good horror movie. I highly recommend it.

Another good one I haven't seen mentioned is "The Thing" 1982 version with Kurt Russell.

1959's The Tingler had me wondering about parasites for a while.

Mothra dude, Mothra.

I hated moths for years after seeing that as a little kid. Fuggin turn the light off in here, it's drawing moths. No need for a night light in my room.
