Question for you gurus.
Can a long action standard model 70 be fit into a featherweight stock.
I have been looking on fleabay at the offerings for supergrade featherweight stocks and wondering if the barrel channel can be opened up enough to fit a standard barrel.
What say you?

Yes; easily.
Look at the magnum chambered classic featherweights to see how much wood remains with a sporter barrel. There’s plenty.

Does anyone happen to know what a Featherweight stock approximately weighs? One would have to figure out the balance as well I would think.

Lots of variation but most of the LA stocks off fw classics I’ve weighed were in the 35-37 oz range. I did have one which was 30 oz (may have been drilled out after it left the factory; I never checked) and a couple of later supergrades that were obtained from cdnn which were on the other end of the spectrum at 40 oz and up.
