I sure hope we can find bailing twine by the time we’re going to start cutting hay in six weeks.
Have a couple of waterline projects I’d like to get done this year.... PVC pipe quotes are good for THREE days only. And the prices make me wish I was buying lumber.
We’ve got a container’s worth of supplies somewhere on the way between the wholesaler in Taiwan and Oakland. Normally that takes about four weeks. We’re at week 11 or 12, and it’s not on a boat yet..... no containers to be had, and once it’s containerized, shipping dates are way out. Plus shipping prices are up 250%.
It’s just getting better, and better, and better.

I think we've rolled over into a socialist state already. We're just slow on the uptake.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

As long as I can get fuel, I'm good. https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/27/business/summer-gasoline-shortage/index.html“Millions of people stuck at home for more than a year are expected to hit the road for much-needed post-pandemic vacations this summer. Good luck finding gas. Not that there's a looming shortage of crude oil or gasoline. Rather, it's the tanker truck drivers needed to deliver the gas to stations who are in short supply. According to the National Tank Truck Carriers, the industry's trade group, somewhere between 20% to 25% of tank trucks in the fleet are parked heading into this summer due to a paucity of qualified drivers. At this point in 2019, only 10% of trucks were sitting idle for that reason. "We've been dealing with a driver shortage for a while, but the pandemic took that issue and metastasized it," said Ryan Streblow, the executive vice president of the NTTC. "It certainly has grown exponentially." Indeed, drivers left the business a year ago when gasoline demand ground to a near halt during the early pandemic-related shutdowns. "We were even hauling boxes for Amazon just to keep our drivers busy," said Holly McCormick, vice president in charge of driver recruitment and retention at Groendyke Transport, an Oklahoma tanker company. "A lot of drivers didn't want to do the safety protocols. We're also working with an aging work force. Many said 'I might as well take it as a cue to retire.'"

I ordered a garage door for a customer on Jan. 19, from a company that sells and installs garage doors. Was told then it was looking like 8-9 weeks lead time. We're at 14 weeks now and no word.

We've been crossing our fingers, and making some adjustments with raw materials, but so far so good. Had some sheet steel come in oversize that is requiring grinding. If that's the worst of it, I'll be thankful.

Waited 4 mos for an all glass commercial door. We’re ordering standard doors when we start now. Roof truss 6-8 weeks, not tub/shower units at 3 supply houses, waiting 6 weeks on a certain tile for a restaurant, windows 8 weeks. Drywall mud, certain paints. Waiting 4-6 weeks to get electric service connected because the local coop has apparently went full retard and all the linemen are scared of their own shadows that they might get covid.

I do quite a bit of fabrication work and the place I buy much of my steel tells me they are having trouble getting things like trailer axles. The local boat shop tells me the same thing. Why would these be hard to get? I have no idea. How about truck drivers drawing unemployment instead of getting in behind the wheel. It's my understanding that gasoline is getting hard to get because truck drivers are opting to draw the unemployment. kwg

I have not had a problem getting what i need.
Some of what i would like to get can still be had but there is a small wait time.
As for brake cleaner and carb cleaner i get it from the parts house, they always have it in stock.
I don't know of any "cheap" freon but they have 134-a and 22 as well as the newer type for autos.
In 2019 i bought a 30 lb.can of the new type for house conditioners because they keep going up in price.
We live between 2 small towns and have not had your problems....YET

You can’t limit or completely shut down most of the biggest economy in the world’s production without major consequences. It was a stupid decision that could, and probably will, rearrange the entire international hierarchy. We don’t back from the damage this administration will cause.

The supply chain to AK has always been fragile. The scamdemic has really thrown a monkey wrench into it.
