YMMV but alcohol thins the blood. It may tend to bleed more if you get lots of alcohol in the system. Probably should go to the ER. The others are right. Be Well, RZ.

I can only count to nine and a half after mashing one more than twenty years ago. You will bump that a few times that will almost make you piss down your leg.

A lot here know what you’re going through

I’ve got a lifetime of cuts from work

Could have been a LOT worse

Glad you’ll be ok

Ouch - that is going to take a while - but with proper care and treatment it may heal up much better than you might imagine. Don't give up on the piano idea - I have seen worse fingers on some very good players. By now, I have spent about 90% of a lifetime trying to avoid such damage due to playing a number of instruments - and with mechanical work, wood work, hunting/fishing/outdoor and wilderness adventures, I have been fortunate. Wishing you quick and great healing.

About a year ago, same hand, I had a universal on an impact gun (dont do it) and the pin started to come out so I held onto it just long enough to rip a hole in my palm between the index and FU finger. The hole was deep enough I could see all the joint and stuff, I pushed the white thingy's back in there and put a oven mitt on for a couple weeks and carried on.
So I had the wife pick up a couple oven mitts tonight on her way home. laugh

Oh man am I sorry to see that my friend.

In 2013 I managed to stick my left hand into a table saw and did a fair number on the first 3 fingers. Thumb and little finger are fine still.

Ugh... I have no advice other than to keep it wrapped up good sleeping. Man, I recall that I'd bang my hand sleeping and wake up right quick and sudden.

Again sir, I am so sorry to see this.

I don't say this often, but I have a wee hunch how you feel.

Dwayne

A finger looks like a trivial thing...until you whack it. Then it's about the 2d most painful part of your body.

I am overwhelmed w/ admiration of your ability to think of making that picture. You win the internets for the month of May.

It also confirms my wisdom in avoiding manual labor.

That is gonna send electric shocks up your hand and lower arm for a loooooong time when it heals up.
The lightest touch will set it off when ya least expect it.

Eeeek... Damn. I've been running wood splitters for nearly50 years and so far (knockin' on wood here) I've always made damn sure my hands are on the SIDE of the piece, and never on the end..

Best wishes for speedy recovery..

This is true. When I cut the tips of 2 fingers off when I was a kid, that was the case. They sewed them back on (kinda), but it took quite a while for that crazy feeling to go away. Word to the wise, don't go trying to catch any footballs or jam them for a while.

Hope you recover quickly.

Yup, lift the log set it on the beam, put one hand on top of the log to hold it, use the other hand to run the hydraulics.

Black guy down the road tried to pinch one of his off with a truck tail gate. Waited for it to get infected to go get it looked at, lost the first joint.

I told him the day after he did it to go to the ER, he says he's afeared of the ronna and won't go.
