I inherited a 1992 Mercury 4hp 2 stroke. It is a short shaft(15”) tiller handle model. It is excess and I have no need for it. I am going to sell it; but, I have no idea of the value. Searching as one would normally do for a specific things doesn't bring up much information. So, I thought I would post here in case anybody knows a little about small outboards. Yes, I know the value can vary depending on the local markets. I just need a general idea. To answer any questions to help with input, other than what I have described, this thing is in near mint condition and runs and starts great. Thanks in advance.

Little bitty older outboards around here generally start at about $300- $500 asking price. They command a little more money usually than a similar vintage unproven 15-25hp in these parts because sub 10hp doesn’t require a title or any registration or tags.

if it runs, starts right up 3 to 5 hundred would be about right to sell quickly. Tough getting parts now for older motors

Thanks guys. I was actually guessing somewhere in that ballpark. I appreciate the input. I'm guessing $400 +/- should get me a reasonably quick sale.

Assume an integral gas tank? Does it have a reverse selector or do you have to spin it around? Those can make a difference, but I think $4-500 is about right.

SP, it has both the external connection for the external tank an the integral tank on top. Additionally, it does have the 3-position selector for R-N-F.

It's a good small motor! In good running condition $500 .. The market is hot right now, for small 4 stroke outboard motors!
