Yeah, the HBC did bring a couple hundred Sandwich islanders into their employ in the Pacific Northwest, good story.

Should have named it the “Wherethefuckarewes” !

I can imagine that was the first words out of the “lost” Hawaiin’s when they dumped them there. 😜

Talk about being “a fish out of the water” !!!

Hush... That is nowhere that any sane man would venture.

Naming your favorite places is a sure way to find them crowded.

They didn't like the climate, some of their descendant's are still around the Pacific Northwest.

It is big country, no doubt. The canyonlands are among the most rugged areas you'll find anywhere.

I love chukar and lion hunting that area.

One of the places better left unmentioned.

The owyhees were blown out last summer from all of the new Boise transplants. Social media ruined this secret years ago.

Hunted there with my son for two weeks last year.
Had some challenges, but enjoyed every minute.

It's surprising how much water is actually out there. However, most of it is in the bottom of the deep canyons and inaccessible without some serious climbing. This photo of the Bruneau River is just 1 example. The pic is pretty grainy as it was getting too dark.

Pretty country. Fished there last September.

Was actually when the fires started around Portland. Camped out on interior land and woke up one morning to a haze. Figured out what was going on when returning to cell phone coverage a few days later.

Spent two full years there doing some wild horse, bighorn, deer, and cattle interaction work. Cookie was totally awed when I first took her in. Tears in her eyes when we left. Pretty quiet place most of the year.

I killed a California Bighorn ram in that canyon country. One of my most enjoyable hunts and scouting experiences ever. I saw lots of unique things there. Amazing place.

congrats. That one of the most coveted sheep tags. I stopped putting in there a few years ago. Ive seen some rams in that area that would push 180. Some great fly fishing in the canyons and chukar on top
