I must move in the wrong circles, as I never see blatant drug or violence events. I know they exist, but I just don't see it. Guess I should spend more time downtown at 02:00 AM in the morning.

There's always been a lot of domestic violence. A lot of what would be considered domestic violence or abusive today was considered discipline when I was a kid. Kids tended to fear their fathers wrath {or in some cases their mothers or grandmothers} back then and it wasn't because they were worried about getting grounded or having a "time out".

Sam is right. The murder suicide that cost the lives of 2 LEOs in Boone NC a few weeks ago was a 30 something that had to live in a small house with a parent and step parent. All families have some level of conflict from time to time but the ones that didn't get along well before the pandemic are beyond miserable now.

Domestic violence is serious stuff, legally. That will follow a person perpetually and there’s no expungement for it in Louisiana.
