629-1 circa 1983. Probably overpaid, but it's very clean and I wanted one...

Jorge, you're on a spree lately! I'm jealous!
Good score!

I have a "twin" to that one, and love it! (But have a Weaver 2x scope atop mine!)

I had a 6 1l2 inch 629 in the late 80s that shot really well with 240-250 SWC and Sierra 240 JHP. They are excellent woods guns that can stand some weather and hard use.

In 1997 I walked into a tiny mom and pop gunshop and saw a 1988 LNIB S&W 29-4 for $200. I asked why so cheap. The owner said the commision seller was just there and wanted the price reduced. I asked why the pawn shop did not buy it? They said the did not have $200. I pulled $200 out of my pocket. That made MY day.

Sweet looking 629. I have done some dumb things in my past, one of which was selling mine.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

Deluxe had a full underlug barrel and interchangeable front sights. You got a nice one there, Jorge!

Nice. I have a 4' and 6" no dash P&N'rd of each, M629's. Well made stuff we will likely never see again.

In December of 79 the company I worked for sent 4 of us up to Prudhoe Bay to modify some equipment that was sent up there. Spent 16 days 12 -15 hrs a day working I had some pretty nice paychecks coming Stopped by a gun dealer I know asked about what was new he pulled out a Brown SW shipping box and opened it on the spot blue boxed gun and cellophane wrapped wood presentation case m629 8 3/8". Cost 500 cash. I paid on the spot most of the 629 frames that year had been ruined by bad heat treating but SW managed about 1500each of 4" and 8 3/8" as well as 3000 6" . Next year they went to 6" and no pinned and recessed any more. I found a pair of smooth Rosewood goncalo alves target grips for it and they are still on it. You might say we're buds. Mb
