I have a valid PAL and have joined a gun club that is handgun certified. I live in south central Manitoba. Do I need a a separate Authority to Transport or is the PAL good enough.

I tried to call Miramichi and got put on terminal due to covid. I did a Google search and looks like the licence covers tarģet practice at the range. I'll see if I can find any other sources.

Brother Keith;
Good evening to you sir, it's been too long since I've said hello, but regardless I trust you and yours are as well as possible what with current circumstances.

As noted by Norm - here in BC the ATT is now an attachment to one's RPAL.

They needed confirmation of my club membership when I renewed my RPAL last year and when I called and asked the CFO of BC, they confirmed that a separate ATT is no longer required.

While I can't see that being different in Manitoba, we're still in Canada and as such one can never tell.

I'd put in a call to the Manitoba CFO as they'll know the rules pertaining to Manitoba.

All the best to you all Keith.

Dwayne

Thanks. I just sent in my PAL renewal and it allows me to possess and acquire non restricted, restricted and 12(6) handguns. I tried calling the 800-731-4000 number and was put on hold for longer than I could bear. I'll try again in the morning. (unless there is a way to locate the MB CFO phone number without sitting on hold for an extended period.) frown

Apparently they are saying the waiting list for PAL renewals is 4 months. Covid is the culprit.

Ontario with all its problems was much easier to navigate, however back in the day, I carried a badge and was the local firearms officer. What a difference 20 years retired can make. grin

In Manitoba when you receive your new licence, the page it’s attached to will have a conditions list at the bottom.
Standard- which is 30days to change address.
Special- lists where you can transport.
You have to carry this special conditions paper with if your transporting!
On the reverse-word for word....”carry this document with your license card as you must be able to produce this document on demand if requested by a peace officer or other authority”.

This is for restricted-RPAL, you only used PAL in your wording but I was thinking that you meant rpal. Bob

You have probably noticed the number of fools has increased in the Canada section the last six months. I don't know why, but we can only hope that it quiets down again.
