Looked at a Springfield 03a3 barreled action with all hardware in excellent condition. Only thing missing is the stock. Bore is excellent condition also. Barrel date is 42 or 44, can't remember which.
What would one expect to pay for this?
Thanks

Boyds has them without the bolt race cut which you can file into place and then refinish it.
Good rifle...

Numrich had stocks and handguards when I built my SC tribute 03A4. As seen on USN Liberty Ship in Viet Nam 1967 w.6X Condor. Was told used for mine destruction.

OldGuns.net has an unissued 03A3 scant stock for $115. I'd bet they have forearms and furniture listed too. Full Mil 03A3s in nice condition can go for over $1000 easy IME.

Assuming you mean how much for the barreled action, I would say around $500 IF everything is there in nice condition and not mucked with and literally all you need is the wood. Because in the end you'll end up with $7-800 in it and that would be max in my book. (But I'm known for not caring too much for 03A3's.) Truth be told A3's are fetching more than that but in more "original" condition than yours would be.

IMO scant stocks were a fugly abomination 80 years and remain so today.

Also looking for C stock to make an a4 clone like NYNY.
Seems like the whole world is sold out of everything these days.
I will pass on a scant for reasons already given.
I got a Remington barrel A3 action without all the hardware for $200 at a local shop, last week. Not a place known for discounts. The bolt work has been expertly converted to A4. Has a 1903 milled trigger guard and the trigger. I already have a butt plate. Not much missing. I would say based on what I gave, $300 for the OP's question.

Who was it who said " more Springfield sniper rifles exist today than there were in 1945". All in good fun- I built a M1941 USMC 03A1 sniper complete with 8x Unertl a couple years ago. A mean shooting SOB.😁

I suspect any current enthusiasm for A3s is about the sights. Wouldn’t mind having one myself just to shoot. Or a nice Swede, or a K31, or even a 1917 or P14. Where I’d put it is a whole ‘nother problem.
What fresh Hell is this?

So if I could pick it up for around $250 I should probably get it.

So if I could pick it up for around $250 I should probably get it. I'm in agreement with the guy that said it's probably worth $300.00 in its current condition, so yes $250.00 is a "no brainer".
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
