Because if I am in my vehicle (Ford F-250 diesel) I have a razor sharp KaBar in the side door panel and I'm going to slash the punk across the neck or face immediately. If I am home a 12 ga pump is by the door. If I am out in town outside the vehicle I will use what I can grab fastest which varies from day to day.

I’d have a bit more time than 2 seconds......home access (driveway) and perimeter motion detectors! That said, 3 or 4 seconds away, a Springfield XDS 45 ACP. The wife, a Sig 928....2 to 3 seconds away.
The motion detectors give more than adequate time to access an AR and a Winchester 12 ga. Defender.....both ready for service! memtb
