We now have armadillos in the mountains of NC.
Will a .22LR Stinger or Velocitor do the trick or should something else be used?
Thanks!

.22 short works. I know a guy who gets out his .357 when his dog alerts him to a diller in the yard, but I'm not sure he has a .22.

I like a .22 mag. but a regular .22 works too. Mag busts the hull into sections though. miles

A 22 rimfire is fine.

17 Mach II or HMR would be fine as well.

I've shot armadillo with everything from a .22 LR to a heavy loaded .45-70. It all works!

Yeah a 22 works fine on them. Been shooting those nasty things in the SC Lowcountry for years. They can tear things up.

I've dumped them with everything from 22lr to 38-55 and 45 colt using cast bullets. Most dramatic though was a 25 yard broadside shot with a 87 TNT out of my m99R 250. Diller just layed over on it's side, when I rolled him over the other side was gone.

A 22 Hornet opens them up pretty well but IME, with the 22 LR, they tend to flop around for a bit.

I use 5.7x28 on Armadillos. I've got a Honda Talon side by side with a light bar on the front as well as light bars on both sides.
If I'm driving, I use the Ruger 57. If I'm the passenger, I use my P90.

It doesn’t take much to kill them. I use a 22
