It never made sense to me that the tour didn't allow rangefinders.

That said, that PGA tournament yesterday was one of the most riveting matches I've ever seen.. What a chit course - yet Phil overall was a master of the game and came out on top.. One month shy of 52 - and he wins a major.. Very impressive..
And did everyone see that CROWD??? Yowza! Musta been 10,000+++ people there and he nearly got trampled gettin' to the 18th green!
