Ha ha . Creedmoor. It is a good round but it's not all that they push it to be. Who are "they" and precisely what are "they" pushing? Well, to make RK's statement correct mathman, "they" would need be a bunch of uninformed huckleberries who push it to be the "be all and end all" to all rifle chamberings/cartridges and just like to make arguments based on false premises. However, to the informed masses, it is exactly what is billed or sold to be, no more, no less. By the way mathman, that's not directed at you as you already know that. You just set that up for me as I was thinking the same as you were.

That's most of it, but I was looking to sleuth out RK's personal opinion as well.

6.5 PRC is the way forward. Plenty rifles now being chambered for this low recoiling magnum that duplicates the very formidable 6.5mm-06 and the 270 Win. So, why not just use one of those then? Well many do, one’s a popular wildcat but head stamp brass, if that’s important to you, is hard to find and expensive. The 270 Win is great, however the 6.5 PRC is supported with proper twist and blessed with long distance projectiles that many seem to desire. All are more than capable in the field where most game is taken at 200-300 yards.
Point I was making is a wildcat .473” bolt SA 6.8mm is somewhat a waste of time when you have the 6.5 Creedmoor and 7mm-08 Rem. Wanting more you could easily move to the well supported 6.5 PRC or the great 270 Win. As I told the wife... The .277/150 gr. is all the length one needs - if one knows how to use it properly. GR

I have experienced much better performance, on game and accuracy, with my 6.9 NeedMoor, than I did with my 6.7, 6.8 or 7.0 NeedMoors., but the 7.1 NeedMoor is a very close second, getting a very deserve honorable mention.

I may be risking my "Rifle Loony" card here. But, at the end of the day, what does a "27 Creedmoor" offer that I can't get by simply DOWN loading my 270 Win to Creedmoor velocities ? Most common 270 Win powders will achieve Creedmoor velocity by simply dropping back 3,4,5 grains of powder. If case volume is an issue, simply swap off to a slower powder...

Well, if you don't have short action and a barrel that says "Creedmore" on it you can't hit or kill anything.
Ask any current gunwriter who is getting bribed to say so.

The only way to make the 6.5 Gaymore any gayer is to stick a .277" bullet in it's mouth ...

What the hell will it do that the 6.5 Creedmoor won't....
and this is coming from someone who has been shooting the 260 since it came out in 98, so therefore ignores the 6.5 NeedMoor... It will offer you worse bc bullets with less selection and no factory ammo. It will also allow you to spend lots of money on something that you will have to give away if you want to get rid of it. With all the great 6.5 and 7mm bullets out there only the military would consider building a new round based on 270 bullets. I got rid of almost everything 25 and 27. I much prefer 6.5 and 7 but I also like to shoot longer ranges. Bb

Azz Pro has ammo in stock Yeah, it's right next to the Sig 277 Fury and 6.8 Western ammo.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.
