At 10:55 theirs a add with a butt pad on a 99f .did Savage have a option for a pad back then?

There’s no recoil pad on the 99F in that ad. Steel buttplate at that time. And Savage didn’t do factory installs of recoil pads in the 50’s as a normal practice.

Aaah.. when I open the video, it takes me to a 50's ad at 21:40 into it.

Yeah, chadbr designed that one and some other nice graphics way back in the day. I think that was his dad's gun.. maybe grandfather's?

He admits many times in the video that he's just learning about them. So I consider it an enthusiastic review by an experienced gun person who has just been exposed to the 99, and he does love it. Even that 99E.. grin
