I had no idea who he was either, but he had some great classics from the 60-70's.

First time I ever saw B.J Thomas and the Triumphs was at a SPJST hall in 1960 or '61, somewhere around Shiner, TX. I was 10 and had no problem buying my first beer as a lot of the parents would send their kids to the beer concession to fetch them some more beer. Those Czech's knew how to party.

Kinda 180 from everyone else.
Didn't realize his older songs I knew,
I liked his 80's country songs.

Saw him many times, last time was Crieghton Theater in Conroe Texas. I love his version of “ I’m so lonesome I could cry”

I'm really surprised he made it this long. Saw him in concert in the mid '90's and he was mailing it in, looking like a heroin junky.

Wasn't he the singer who made popular that song written by Bruce Eddy called "Mommas, don't let your cowboys grow up to be gayboys." wink

L.W.

"Always go straight forward, and if you meet the devil, cut him in two and go between the pieces." (William Sturgis, clipper ship captain, 1830s.)
