My grandfather did basically the same thing.

My Dad offered to do that to his department head once with about a 3 ft piece of 2 x in his hand . Had him cornered in his shop when the police pulled up . Cops told the big guy he must have deserved it and lucky they showed up . Dad never took [bleep] from anyone

Here is the explanation of so much of today’s crime in the final two sentences of the article:

In 2020, Schulman was convicted of a series of crimes, including third-degree assault, theft and fleeing a peace officer. He was convicted of a burglary charge in 2019.

.....that ol’ revolving door on the courthouse.

Yes, we need to know who has those 2x4s . Who really needs one besides a licensed construction person anyway. Some safety training for those that think they need to carry one in the pickup should be mandatory as well.

I'm going to say that the victim was framed.

Little country bar, (closest thjng we had to a restaurant) we left that place in a hurry many times.
Dad would look at us and say eat quick, there is gonna be trouble.

Sounds like you'd have been better off growing up around NW 62nd St in Miami than the backwoods of PA.

Lol.

Mann's Choice, little town doesn't bust 100 pop.
Little store, hardware, post office, two bars directly across the
street from each other. It served the whole area.

Locals used to call it Dodge City. Violence at the bars was a police
attended thing about every other week from the late 70's until about 2010.
One hell of a crime rate. Two guys gunned down between the bars, arson of
one bar with two fatalities. Multiple other shootings, lots of beatings and
impact weapon issues. Don't remember a stabbing.

Store got robbed a couple years ago.
Suspect was black.
Considering the whole townpship had one black family.
That just moved into a slumlord owned house, within 100 yards of
the store. Didn't take long to solve that one! grinu

But was the 2x4 over or under 16" in length, and what color was it?
Was it a black assault 2x4?

This is the Fire, far to many unanswered questions here.

Hardwood or softwood, Douglas fir, Ash, oak?? Treated or untreated?
