I am looking for a target scope for load development at the range. I usually use a 3x9 on my hunting rigs and like to put a little more power on top for initial load development. I currently have a 6x-18x Meopta Cabelas edition with their ballistic plex or whatever they call it in it. I have that one Meopta, a couple of Leupold VX3's, and a couple 3x9 Swarovski Z3's in the safe. I'm partial to sharp clear glass and am wanting a simple target crosshair or fine/target duplex. The target crosshair is my first choice. I don't care for Leupold's target dot crosshair. All my hunting rigs wear 1" Talley lows or mediums and all shooting will be in daylight so a 40mm objective is sufficient.
What's out there thats comparable in glass quality to the Leupold and Meopta that fits my wants and is under $1000. Is there a Meopta or Leupold that will fit my wants? I don't want to spend Swaro money to punch 100 yard groups at the range.
I may end up just dealing with the Meopta and live with the cluttered objective, but am exploring other options.
