reivertom, the vet as I recall was Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi. He took a wrong turn on the freeway and wound up in the traffic lane entering Mexico or at least that was his story. He was arrested by the Mexican Police for possessing three firearms, a 45ACP. a 12guage shotgun and an AR-15. He should never have been arrested and wouldn't have been if Mexico wasn't one of the most corrupt countries in the world. I must be getting him mixed up with another case. There have been people locked up in Mexico for mere cartridges in their car. As if I needed another reason to never set foot there.

Here in Romania, military calibers are legal. On my arms permit, I have rifles in .223 Rem.,6.5x55 SE, 7x57 Mauser, 308 Win. and 30-06 Spr. The 30-06 here is documented in Romanian law and hunter education manuals as the "Universal hunting cartridge". RJ As it should be. Isn’t this the 11th Commandment? Thou shalt understand fully that ‘The 30-06 is, was, and will always be the only cartridge ever personally hand loaded by the Lord himself’

Thanks to our drama teacher clown of a prime minister it is now illegal to have firearms capable of producing 10,000 joules muzzle energy in Canada, among many other new bans.

I have heard that in many muslim countries if you are found to be shooting a .270 they will throw you off the roof of a suitably high building.
