I'm so sorry. The elderly have been brutalized by government over the last 15 months. It's unconscionable. You, your family, and Mom are all in my thoughts.

Your mom, you and your family have my prayers. Burying a parent is tough but I hope that the legacy of love and the wonderful memories that she leaves behind for her children to cherish can be of immeasurable comfort, at least that’s been my experience. I pray that’s the case for you.

Mark, pretty much went thru the same thing 60 days ago that you're going thru now. And pretty much exactly how you described it. Our moms are even the same age. One of the last things she said to me is "I'm sure gonna miss you guys." Then the morphine kicked in. I was holding her hand when she took her last breath.

My Mom is approaching the end of life.
She and we, her family could use some prayers for peace and acceptance.
Mom is in Florida in a hospital with pneumonia, A-fib, multiple strokes etc.
Our intent is just to make her comfortable.
They are giving her morphine, which at this stage often contributes to hastening death.
She appears to not have the will to live, and that pretty much assures she won’t survive this.
She’s 86 and has had a good life till last year when the Gretchenator locked them in the assisted living facility where she literally went crazy.
At this point I just pray that she doesn’t linger on.
The last six weeks since she had multiple falls resulting in a hematoma on the brain, have been her worst nightmare I’m sure. My dad went out on morphine during hospice at age 81. Since I lost my mom to cancer when she was just 46, I felt especially blessed to have had my dad for as long as I did. It was sad, but I counted my blessings, and he told me he was ready to go home to Jesus. You too have been blessed to have your mom for so many years. I am sure you realize this, and the morphine will kill any pain. God bless her and you and your family.

Mark, Prayers for your lovely mom. I feel you pain, losing my mother at 88 in Jan 2019. Three of her other 4 sisters also died that year.
If she is destined to depart, I hope she is at peace and has to experience no pain..

Thanks everyone for your prayers and relating your experiences. This is a tough time as we only have one mother. She carried us for nine months, fed, protected, comforted and loved us.
