When fox were a C-note each and I was poor I loaded Lee 170gr Flatnose GC's in my nasty 300 Sav.(somebody screwed a 03 Springfield barrel on a curve butt Savage 1899 paid $75. at Scheels)) I used 700X and it shot tiny little groups and it didn't take long to be able to pay for a 22H from the fox I killed with it, no more damage than a couple stitches couldn't fix.
Later in life when things were better I would buy bulk pre-cast 25-20 85gr bullets from Meister bullets and use them in my 250-3000 TD for hunting small game again 700X. Had to sell the rifle when my eyes went bad, I didn't want to D&T it. They shot well, I still use them in my 25-204 and keep thinking about a 25 Hornet, some day but I'm running out of time faster than I'm filling my bucket list.
