I wouldn't mind seeing the store clerks use these for self defense. When I am able to open with the Lord's provisions, I could care less losing a few bucks to a shoplifter. Then again, my most expensive item in inventory will be under $500. I already have wall to wall mirrors and will buy security cameras as a deterrent. The lady that I bought this once in a lifetime movie from pulled expandable batons out and made me crack up laughing. Guess what? My morning devotions were on the topic of the double sticks used in the Bible.

I’m still on my Schwinn Voyageur of that same era, still works every time I crank the pedals.

How many miles have you put on that bike?

Dunno, had it for thirty years but most of that time it hung on the garage wall. Didn’t get serious on it until eight years back, I’d WAG maybe 18,000 miles since then, maybe 20,000.

Not really.

Fifty miles a week ain’t at all extraordinary among the bicycle crowd, that puts you at around 2,600 miles a year right there.

Local Ford dealership had that happen. Twice. Now you have to leave your license and have a salesperson ride with you.

Lotta money for a bike made offshore.

Cannondale used to made right here.
Drive by the factory on the way to work.
4 or 5 former employees work with me now.

I often laugh.
Those guys welded aluminum and titanium frames for $12-14/hr.
Bikes selling for thousands, turning out a frama every 45 minutes.
Tig welding using a spool gun to speed production.
Working both hands and a foot all at once.

Carbon frames have been outsourced from the begjnning.

I tossed my bike in the trash the very DAY I got my drivers' license and never looked back.. Thinking back (50s & 60s), we wore jeans, tee shirt and NO 'Aero' helmet or spandex of any kind... HOW in the hell did we EVER survive??????????? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, the humanity!!!!!!

I went to a bike shop once for a repair and the guy tried to sell me a $6000 bike. I told him I could get a motorcycle for that price that carries me up a hill. He got offended.

My Santa Cruz 5010 V2 keeps me from getting fat and out of shape outside of elk season. 1500 offroad miles on it last year.

[ humanity!!!!!![/quote

That’s because you had enough sense to get off the road when a car approached, and not ride to abreast. My father would have spanked my ass if I did like these bike riders do now! Rightfully so! And when you got old enough you ditched you bike and drove a car.

They require mask so they can’t identify him. This is just the beginning. Thieves can hide their face and hide in plain sight
