Four Jap carriers in the battle, all four sunk. Also, 70 airplanes per carrier, nowhere to land, most all of 280 of the most experienced combat air crews in the world lost in this battle.

I've always liked the PBY-5A's since seeing a bunch them in some surplus aircraft at the airport in Casa Grande, AZ in the 50's. There were a LOT of surplus aircraft around AZ back then Retired cat herder.
