Was looking through some of my guns I haven't shot lately and found a bar in 243 win that has the aluminum receiver and 20" barrel. Got to thinking a 358 win rebore in this gun would sure be interesting..... I will call jes Monday and see but until then has anyone seen this done on a browning bar???

I have seen one for sale in the past. A 338-06 IIRC.

Heck I was possible thinking of a 358 and a 35 Whelen rebore on one. Jes did a.browning a bolt for me last year and I have been very pleased with it!'

Had Jes do a steel receiver BAR safari 308 into 338fed works great. He did tell me that the aluminum one will not work for rebore.

243 bar has been hard find around this area

Depending on the configuration of that BAR you might have a gun that’s worth something. Is it a stalker or lightweight wood stock?
Most of those rifles shoot excellent!

the 243 is a wood lightweight gun with 20" barrel i have a 270 lightweight just like it....... also got lucky and picked up a stalker lightweight 308 win with a 20 in barrel they all shoot great due to the aluminum receivers on them i am just going to leave them alone

I have a BLR rebored from 243 to 358 Winchester. Shoots as well as the 760 Remington 243 rebored to 358 Winchester, all by JES. Be well, RZ.
