Same here.......except plain Cougar.....ugly green color. Chrome 60's on the rear.......baby moon chromies on the front. Had the solenoid 3 step turn signals. 8 track stereo. Boosted Tommy James, and Led's 's 'whole lotta love'. Green eyed lady too, Sugarloaf. 890 WLS AM......Chicago. Didn't even notice the static....till FM. Little 289 2V ate many small blocks Chevy's.......even with the crappy transmission. Put a high performance air filter on 'er........with 'Thrush' glasspack dual exhaust. Drag strip ready! 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, white with black top and interior. 289 with automatic and T shifter on the console. Leather bucket seats.

Dunno about the 404 but the next generation 504’s established a reputation as one of the few passenger sedans that would hold up in Africa, I enjoyed driving the 504 station wagon version when working for a Dutch Mission hospital, OK. not as much as I liked their LandRovers, but pretty darned cool nonetheless.

Mine was built in 1967 and was “unsafe at any speed”.

Mine was a Maroon 2 door 51 Ford flat head V8.
The only thing I'm an expert at is my own opinion, and I have plenty of those!

1963 Chrysler 300 convertible. Painted a very dark green, white top and white leather, power seats and windows. I swapped the Engine for a 383 4 barrell. Loved that car.

'66 Mustang 289 with factory air, automatic transmission. Sister and I shared it.
Needed brakes so Dad sold it for 800 dollars and bought a 68 Chevy long bed "camper special" pickup with 4 on the floor and a straight 6.
First car I bought on my own was a 71 Mustang with a bored-out 302 with dual exhaust and Foghat in the 8 track.

Hand me down ‘78 Coronet Wagon with the Smog 400. What a fuggin Battle Wagon that was to bomb around in. Thing was most at home on the highways. Play “Shepherd of The Road” With folks in their late eighties Beamers and Mercedes and what not doing the morning commute on the MA Pike and 495 and such. What a blast.

My first car was a '57 Chevy 210, 2-dr post, seafoam green. Had an inline 6 cyl and 2-gear power glide when I got it in '74 and a 350 turbofire V8 (stock) and turbo 400 tranny when I sold it in about '88. The son of the guy I sold it to rolled it 2 weeks later . . . Wish I hadn't sold it.

Same here.....Little 289 2V ate many small blocks Chevy's.....even with the crappy transmission. All in all, that would have been very unlikely dining unless those Chev drivers were unskilled.

1962 Pontiac Tempest, badly faded red pain.... mom bought it for $250, off an airman in her office at the Pentagon who was getting transferred to Vietnam. when I saw in I almost barfed..... crap what a piece of junk, POS looking car.... Mom told me to try it out at least... said it was real peppy for a 6 cylinder.
Took it around the block until I was out of sight of home.... at the stop sign, I stopped, nothing company, so I just floored it...car went every direction but straight...... stopped it, popped the hood. the " 6 cylinder" was a Pontiac 421 crate motor with 2 four barrels in it... guy had been setting up to drag race it...
Had it 8 weeks before mom finally got a clue of it wasn't stock....she took it and sold it back to someone else at the Pentagon...
Next I ended up with 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 6 door limo, that was a former State Dept Vehicle... Looked like a Mafia Mobile, complete with 22 LR bullet holes in one of the rear fenders....Heaviest car ever built in the USA.. 50 gallon gas tank.. huge engine, with two 4 barrels, the air cleaner cover was so huge, you couldn't see the engine under it...we did wrap the Speedometer on I 95 going down to Richmond, but then had trouble trying to slow it down...
90 days later she took that car, and I ended with a 1970 VW Bug....

1965 Corvair Monza had 4 single barrel carbs 140 horsepower. And you are still breathing air? Ralph Nader says that car is Unsafe At Any Speed.
