Larry P will dump these M1’s at the most opportune time for him and not his customers. No doubt he also has pallets of ammo that will also be ridiculously priced as are the rifles. A sharp business man he is. I'm sure you would be giving them away...

He sounds like a capitalist. If I find the prices are too high, I don't buy and just move on... You are correct. It’s really not that complicated, for most people. I’d like one, but other than taking up safe space and plinking, they’re kinda worthless. The funniest part of capitalism is being mad at the seller if you can’t pay the asking price. True. If you want to do what he does, pony up the price and buy several hundred of them .

They came from Italy.
“Per our supplier, these guns are believed to have come directly from use in the European theatre of WWII, eventually making their way to the Italian Armed forces. From there they went to the Carabinieri – the Italian National Police - and have been in storage since the early 1950s. There are no records indicating how the Italian Armed Forces came into possession of these WWII M1 Carbines.” Since they came from the Eye-talians you know they've only been dropped once!

I have one that is a non import from the 1960's. Inland all cartouches etc, excellent untouched. How much would that list for? If the Midway prices are an indicator I'd think $2000 and up. Crazy times. A local Saginaw, all original, 97+% just sold for $2800.

I have thought about these for the past few days and I have decided to pass on it. I recently bought an IBM in good condition which was my “Caroline”. I have an Underwood also, nothing special. Just don’t think I need another one of these right now

Almost gone. Only a few left.

Tried for a rock-ola and they sold out while in my cart trying to check out. Snagged a Winchester to go with my Winchester garand.

I'm glad I scratched the M1 Carbine itch 35 years ago with a $100 Winchester, and got that nonsense out of my system. At the end of the day they don't satisfy many requirements in terms of accuracy and/or utility for hunting. Still, better than a stick in terms of self defense and obviously a good investment for those seeking to combine history with money.
Even in the 80's it was still cheaper to buy surplus .30 Carbine ammo than to load it ourselves, which meant we killed hundreds of empty beer cans and walked away from the empty brass on the ground. Then one day a buddy jumped through the hoops and acquired an M2 Carbine which took plinking to a whole 'nother level.
