Pic up an early Savage 340 in 30-30 for cheap today. Has the Dockendorff front sight a King blank in the rear dovetail and an old Redfield peep sight. Also came with 2 factory mags, but it's missing the complete bolt.
Anybody have one or know where to find one?

It's not a 99, but it's still an older Savage.

Thanks, nash

Just looked at the eBay auction and yeah, wow. And you likely are the only person on the planet the seller has any hope of making a deal with. It's an OBO auction so shoot the seller an offer. The worst he could do is say no. However, with any bolt you would likely need to have the head space checked and may run into problems with it binding a bit against the action as they would not constitute factory fit parts. Best of luck in your quest.

I wonder how many junker Savage 340s are sitting in gun shops gathering dusts? It might take you awhile but you should be able to find one sooner or later

Oh, I'm sure one will show up. Not going to be in a hurry.
I did make an offer on the one on eBay. Haven't heard back yet.

Marlin also sold the same gun, but don't remember the Model Number assigned to it..

I've had 3 or 4 over the decades.. pretty plain Jane, but they were good shooters...

have had them both in 30/30 and also 222 Rem.

My Savage 340B that cost me $119 in 2016 is the same as my Springfield 840 that cost me $80 in 2005.

Found one at Numrich, wouldn't you know I waited for a week and they shipped the wrong one. Ordered one for an early 340 and they sent one for a 340E.
Sent it back to them today
Now wait another 2 weeks for the correct one. 😭😭

That’s Numerich for you. Their shipping has always been problematic. Hopefully they will do you right with the replacement.
