Good argument for those decades being the golden years of the United States. 1989 and the end of the Cold War is IMHO the turning point. Seems like the 90’s is where we started going backwards. No communist enemy for Democracy to champion over any longer. Early 90’s brought the crack plague, the militarization of Law Enforcement, the beginnings of “diversity” as a virtue, racialization of pretty much every facet of life, acceptance of LGBTQ idiocy etc…. The 90’s brought on the beginning of the end of the great experiment.
Looks like it’s China’s time again. Not long ago Britain, Germany and France were “world powers”.

I would go back to our second industrial revolution right after WW2. America has been very blessed. I agree with your comments... If we are around in ten more, I think we may even be looking back on 2019 as the good old days.

Skinny girls in tube socks. Laws yes that was a damn good era to growup in. Even most heavy girls would be normal weight by todays standards.

I think the golden age was long before then but the 80’s and the 90’s were probably the last “normal times” I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. The basic American values were being eroded in pop culture but as a kid I didn’t see it and we still had mostly traditional American values and upbringings. More the end of America as it was traditionally known than the golden age of America.
When I think about how Bill Clinton could almost be considered a typical RINO Republican in today’s political environment it speaks volumes as to far we’ve fallen.

And we still played dodge ball without being “woke” to it being unfair to fat kids. The fat kid was the kid on Goonies being made to do the truffle shuffle and we all laughed.

And there were few fat kids back then, we played pick-up football and base ball games every day after school till it got dark.

My son was born in 1980, but people always remark that by the things he knows, the music he likes, and the way that he thinks, you would swear that he was born in the fifties. Wonder how he got that way.

The NFL would have fallen In line with that time-chart exactly. At its peak. Worthless now.
The slide started in the 90’s, to be fair. Rule changes. The beginnings of two hand touch. Twat ball. In the eighties, you had the pinnacle of refined, ruthless strategy coupled with selective genetics and position-based skill-sets. It was an amazing game. Risky. Violent. Artful.
Now it’s a joke.
